What this is
Flitterby is a service operated by Serious Business Software LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and that company.
Flitterby copies files between cloud storage accounts that you own or are authorized to use, at your instruction. It is currently in private testing, and nothing is charged during that period.
Your responsibilities
- Only connect accounts you own or have permission to use.
- Only move files you have the right to move.
- Keep your own backups. See the warranty section below, which we mean sincerely.
What it costs, when it costs anything
Flitterby is sold as prepaid transfer credit, at the rates published on the home page. You buy an amount of transfer, and it is spent as files are copied. There is no subscription, and no charge for bandwidth on our side; see the note below about your own providers.
Credit is deducted only for data that arrives at the destination. A file that fails does not spend credit, and a copy you stop partway spends only what it moved. New accounts are given a starting amount of credit, currently 100 GB, which does not renew.
Credit does not expire and is not tied to any one transfer. You may spend it across as many copies as you like, whenever you like. It has no cash value, is not transferable between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money except as described below.
The size of a copy is measured, and any shortfall shown, before a transfer starts. We will not charge you an amount you have not seen. Prices may change, but credit you have already bought keeps the amount of transfer it was bought for.
Tax is added at checkout where we are required to collect it.
Refunds
If a copy does not finish and the credit for it was spent, we will put that credit back. You do not need to make an argument for it: write to support@flitterby.com and say which copy.
If you have bought credit and not spent it, and you would rather have the money, write to us and say so. We would rather refund a payment than keep one you resent.
What we cannot refund is a charge your own provider made. If your source storage billed you for the bandwidth a copy used, that is a bill from them, we never received it, and we cannot return it. This is why it is said plainly before you start.
What we will do
We will move the files you select, verify what we can, and tell you plainly when something fails. We will not read, share, or retain your file contents.
No warranty
Flitterby is early software provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It can fail, and transfers can be interrupted or incomplete. Do not use Flitterby as your only copy of anything you care about. Verify an important migration before deleting the source.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serious Business Software LLC is not liable for data loss, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Availability
This is a preview. Features may change or be withdrawn, and access may be suspended, without notice. We will give reasonable notice before deleting anyone's account data. If we withdraw the service while you are holding unspent credit, we will refund it.
